Stratigraphic - Hydrological Remains

There are three main stratigraphic remains in the geopark: (1) The underbed layer (Yuntaiguan Formation of Upper Devonian Series), which is located in the Forest Chang-Luoguta line of Zhangjiajie and consists mainly of siltstone, gravel sandstone and quartz sandstone; (2) The littoral-shallow Marine lithoclastic rock (Middle Devonian Yuntaiguan Formation), which is located in the Luoguta - Huangshizhai line, is composed of thick gray-white - flesh red fine quartzite sandstone with thin layers of siltstone and shale, with a red iron cap formation on the top; (3) The limestone cover (Permian system) located at the line between the mouth of the Suoxiyu tunnel and the management office of Suoxiyu. In the two geological relics of Suoxi Valley and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, there are four protection points of brachiopod fossils of Suoxi Valley, undetermined species traces of double toe trace fossils, clove lytic coral fossils and Sannanyu snail fossils.

The hydrogeological relics in the geopark mainly include Jinzhuoxi, Baofeng Lake, overlapping water waterfall, underground underground river, among which Huanglongdong underground River has the largest water volume, about 2km long, 5 ~ 8m wide, 3m deep, and can be visited by boat. There are also three dark waterfalls, Huanglong Waterfall, Tianshui Waterfall and Heaven and Earth Waterfall, with a drop of about 40 m.
