Zhangjiajie Global Geopark Museum is located next to the Shuirousimen, the core scenic spot of the Geopark, covering an area of about 6,000 square meters, of which the pavilion area is about 1,000 square meters, and the ecological square is about 5,000 square meters. It has been upgraded twice, and the museum has disseminated the science popularization knowledge of Zhangjiajie landform to the world free of charge, interpreted the origin of Zhangjiajie landform, and fully displayed its scientific, ecological and aesthetic values.
The museum is divided into three parts: "Walking into Zhangjiajie", "Protecting Zhangjiajie" and "experiencing Zhangjiajie". It has a comprehensive exhibition hall, paleontology Hall, animal and plant Specimen Hall and historical figure introduction Hall, and Zhangjiajie Landform 5D Experience Hall, etc., with a collection of more than 20,000 rare animals, plants, microorganisms, paleontological fossils, and minerals. The 5D Experience Hall is the first of its kind in the global geopark and the only chargeable project of the museum. The movie "The Adventure of Wuling" played in the experience museum can enable viewers to enjoy the fun of roaming through space and feel the changes of Zhangjiajie in millions of years. The museum has now become a hot spot for popular science tourism in Zhangjiajie Global Geopark, attracting a large number of tourists every year.
